Gardens for the impoverished in rural Honduras

Family Gardens

Project Eden provides all that is necessary for a family to have their own garden. The family signs an agreement to learn basic care and maintain the garden. Produce that is harvested provides fresh vegetables for the family, an element that is often missing from their regular diet.

School Gardens

Working with teachers in rural villages, we help students plant and care for gardens on the school grounds. These gardens not only provide the school with food for snacks and lunches, they teach students about agriculture and commerce. Extra harvested crops can be sold at local markets with the proceeds going directly back into the school.

Community Gardens

Project Eden collaborates with local villages to establish gardens for the benefit of families who agree to maintain the garden. Project Eden helps prepare the soil and provides all the initial supplies, including fencing, irrigation, and seedlings. Produce that is harvested provides fresh vegetables for the families that work the garden. Extra produce is given free to some of the neediest families, or sold at below market price to other community members.
